I’ve got no stance (for/against) the Mormon church (LDS, etc.), but I find it quite ironic that I rarely see their name in print. For example, everytime they leave something on our doorstep- brochure, booklet, what have you- it takes some serious fine print reading to detect any evidence of where it came from. Or, when a friend unknowingly (or, maybe they are completely aware?) invites me to join a related group on Facebook, (such and such temple, or such and such cause), I again have to do some serious fine print reading to find any statement of the actual religion’s name. Mind you, this isn’t meant as an attack of any kind. Maybe there’s a perfectly logical reason. I just find it a bit odd; if I were really proud of my beliefs, so proud that I went door to door asking others to join me, I’d most certainly be ok with saying the name of that belief system. Anyone have any ideas?
